OCD – The world is driven by it.

Have you ever seen someone get angry over something that actually doesn’t matter? Like, a chair is not in a symmetrical order or there are not even number of stairs. Well they might have a mental disease called OCD. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is a mental disorder in which a person feels the need to perform certain routines repeatedly (called “compulsions”), or has certain thoughts repeatedly (called “obsessions”).The person is unable to control either the thoughts or activities for more than a short period of time. Common compulsions include hand washing, counting of things, and checking to see if a door is locked. Some may have difficulty throwing things out. The cause is unknown.

Consider, everyone in your family has OCD, and just to tell you there is pandemic going on and your whole family is with you. You will be insane in a week. The thing is no one knows exactly what drives people with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder to do what they do, even when they’re fully aware that they shouldn’t do it, and when it interferes with their ability to live a normal life. This lack of scientific understanding has a serious consequence — experts say approximately half of all sufferers lack effective treatment options.

When you are walking on a road you see squared tiles on the road and you try to avoid landing your feet on the borders of that tiles. Somewhere in your mind you know that it is not normal, surely that’s not but it is normal in people. The new study shows that 1 in 40 adults and 1 in 100 children in the world has OCD.

With some home remedies you can try to overcome the effects of OCD. But surely it needs to be treated with the help of medical professionals. Medical professionals use the therapy called CBT i.e. Cognitive behavioral therapy. But since you are at for now, then here are some techniques that you can try.

1. Play Board Games

Board games help you concentrate. They might the best thing to help you focus.

2. Meditating

This is a proven method for your mental health. It’ll help you get calm and also help you with anxiety.

3.Take an Online Course

Just focus your mind towards something, like a online course. A plus point you can learn something out of it.

4. Communicate

Having a healthy communication with your loved ones can be rewarding. Have a video call with your distant relatives. It is oddly satisfying.
